Michigan making it legal to refuse medical care to homosexuals

Not that I have any urge to move back to Michigan, but if I did, it would be gone now...
Doctors or other health care providers could not be disciplined or sued if they refuse to treat gay patients under legislation passed Wednesday by the Michigan House.

The bill allows health care workers to refuse service to anyone on moral, ethical or religious grounds.

The Republican dominated House passed the measure as dozens of Catholics looked on from the gallery. The Michigan Catholic Conference, which pushed for the bills, hosted a legislative day for Catholics on Wednesday at the state Capitol.

The bills now go the Senate, which also is controlled by Republicans.

Are you sure you won't miss the expansive vistas from great elevations of 20 feet or the comforting way people provide customer service?

More seriously, why isn't being more widely reported? I would hope the AMA would condemn it.

Hey, those ski hills were 300ft tall (thanks to the old landfills beneath them)! Of course, here in Colorado, I think a 300ft hill is considered a speed bump.

As for the story, it looks like it's old news and the bill was killed a year ago.

Sorry for the old news.
